PVC Coated Barbed Wire consists of a core of steel wire galvanized and coated with a layer of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for enhanced corrosion resistance. NATO and IOWA type barbed wires are mainly used in agricultural and industrial security applications for fencing and perimeter security.

Process: PVC Coated Barbed Wire is typically galvanized before PVC coating. This is a process of extrusion, with wire passed through a pool of molten PVC, ensuring a uniform coating over the entire length of the wire. This type of barb wire has layer of zinc protection against rust and corrosion and pvc layer adding further protection, compared to non-pvc-coated barbed wires.

Twisted barb types: IOWA.

Colors: Green and black are the most commonly used.
Green pvc coating allows the coated barbed wire to blend in with the surrounding environment, Black coating makes the wire more visually noticeable.

Barb wire is usually wound into coils / rolls for storage or shipment.
